I like the first one a lot more. Keep it dirty. The drawing is so textural, i think the photoshop/airbrush look in the second painting kind of takes away form that. The loose brushstrokes in the first one keep it feeling fresh.
it looks great though. I have no idea how you keep pushing the shot. I keep thinking it's done, and then the next time i see it it's even better looking.

i really like the first one better, the lighting in the second one gives the shot a very unbalanced look, but the first one is great.
I personally like the first one better, the simpler one? It looks like it reads a lot better, I could make out the shapes a lot easier and it caught my eye before the second one,
either way, they're both great, but I do prefer the first one
it looks like a photo taken with lomo fisheye!

Heh, I gotta say I like the second one better - has more of a feeling of atmosphere and more 'photoshop cheese' as you put it (or was it ben?)
I think if you can keep up the level of painting for the second one than go for it.

i like the first one, i'd just say give it a LITTLE hint of stronger light source, not so much as numero deux. i think the second one looks a tad over done.
but the drawing is tight either way.

love the layouts Casper! they give of 2 very different moods, so I think it depends on what kind of setting or mood you want to show. The first for me feels afternoon-ish to dawn, so its got more of a mysterious/ cozy feel to it..the second one (my choice) has a cheery morning feel to it, but then it also steers your eye into the darkness to maybe reveal something..i dunno..depends on your story, which I have no idea about and I'm just starting to ramble on..so yeah I like the 2nd one coz it tells more of a story for me. peace!
